Eye on Malaysia

Earlier this year, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007, the 'Eye on Malaysia' Ferris wheel was unveiled. It has a height of 60metres and contains 60 gondolas fully air-conditioned. One of which is the VIP gondola with a price tag of RM300 i think..

An exclusive VIP gondola has also been outfitted to include plush leather
seats fit for a king, a mini fridge, a DVD player, a plasma TV and a mobile
telephone.

DVD player? plasma TV? who in the sane mind would even think about trying it? Come to think about it, watching movie while sitting in the gondola may be quite some fun.. but why not just watch it at home ar?

Located in Lake titiwangsa, it is supposed to provide a nice view on the whole Kuala Lumpur City. Like any curious couples, we decided to pay a visit to it. Surely, it provides a good avenue for good photography, just wish i had a tripod with me..

Luckilly for us, the we got into the gondola after just about 10 minutes of wait. The horror stories of 2 hour waits luckilly did not came true.. at least on that day.. Anyway, in the picture, the barge in the middle is actually a site for fireworks launching at night. Also, laser shows are supposed to be on as well. We didn't see those as it was quite early when we got there..

Here's how the gondola look like, fitting about 6 ppl it's pretty crampy.. Not to mention it is pretty spooky when it sways at the top.. Our ride costed Rm20 each.. felt like got chopped in the head after that.. :P There was a little baby in our gondola, he was crying non-stop throughout the ride.. lol!

The view from the top was a little dissapointing though.. Apart from the KLCC, there really isn't much to see. I guess the best view is actually the lake itself, which surprisingly looked cool with the water fountains and stuff..

All in all, it isn't a bad idea really.. other than the illogically expensive ride and the lack of parking facilities, the eye on malaysia ride is quite a good venture. It'll only be here this year, go see it if you can!
