My com is starting to behave like crazy lately..

Latest check on my memory status:

Free space: 6.84 Gb
Total used: 71.7 Gb

Omg... how could i have filled up so much stuff in so little time???? Maybe its because of the few movies i've downloaded from the network.. maybe its from the anime's... hahahaha! i'm crazy...the laptop is taking longer and longer to respond to what i do now.. haha! its time to clean up the junk..:P have to replace them with 'educational' materials, a.k.a lecture notes..

Just took a huge piece of researce on sickle cell anemia.. have about 20 websites to read... so cham.... haha!

Its getting very cold lately... winter is coming... Lowest temperature so far: 13 degrees... not bad.. actually i like the weather.. except in the mornings. Getting out of bed is a chore..haha!

Done all i can for the group project research... my report is over lenghted though... have to cut it down from 1800 to 500 words.. wonder how is that possible in the first place... Maybe i'll have to revamp everything so that it fits the word limit... anyway, will keep that for the next meeting to decide what to kill.

Went for a jog just now, after such a long time.. I'm quite happy with my performance actually.. ran 3 rounds.. haha.. think its about 400 -500 m per round..:P yeah, its not big deal for many people, but it is for me.. hehe! will gradually increase them.. i vow to run weekly now! hehehe! :)

Guess i'll go back to my room now... have to read some notes...

Changing environments

Posted by Way Siong | | Posted On Thursday 12 May 2005 at 10:00 pm

I suddenly understood why our groups are shuffled around. Maybe its not the real reason behind the move but for me, its to learn to cope with changing environments in a hospital. As a doctor, we will be constantly involved in different groups of people when solving a particular problem. To work efficiently in this, i guess its important to learn to cope with different people quickly. I always find it rather difficult to adapt to new environments, people and surroundings. I am more inclined to form clicks when trying to find friends, and when hanging out. I am still like this, but what i lack is a group that i could really blend into.. hehe! So far.. the guys from Malaysia Hall are my only close friends. I guess the ever changing members of the scenario group and the clinical sessions allow me to learn to adapt to new situations more quickly than i can now.

Some pictures from Canberra..

Some time ago i went to trip to Canberra with a few guys from my college. Canberra is the capital city of Australia, which does not resemble a capital city whatsoever.. haha!

The tallest building there is probably 20 storeys tall... Basically the city is a planned city, started from scratch.. They plant the trees, make lakes, roads, buildings and stuff, pretty cool, and quite a nice place to be.

We went to have a look at the parliment, which is somewhat a version of Putrajaya itself.. IMHO, i prefer Putrajaya in some sense.. The parliment is located in the center of a triangle, an imaginary line drawn in the city. There are 3 landmarks that represents the ends of the triangle, one of them being the Telstra communication tower, the others i'm not very sure...

Here's a pic of the parliment..

I realised that i'm kinda draining my quota by uploading the pictures, so i'll keep this to a minimum... haha!

Later that day, we went to the War Memorial, which i think is the best place in the city to visit... there are so many exhibitions and things to see, u'll need at least 2 days to finish the trip..

We ended the trip with a visit to the Telstra tower. It was freezing cold there, and i took my favourite picture from there. The skies looked magnificent and colourful... hehe!

The trip home took us about 3 hours of ride... it was quite a nice trip, and has been a valuable experience for me..:) Now i know where is the capital.. I used to think it was Sydney.. lol!

The pictures are in links because if i posted the read pictures, it would be too big.. I'm trying to apply some html scripting to it if possible.. for now, this is what i can do.. :)

Guess i'll log out now.. :)

Living in Another country...

It feels weird. Even after i've lived here for more than an month, i still can't get used to the ang mohs here.. haha! Australians love their beer. Sometimes, its quite annoying because they got drunk and started to make a lot of noise at night. 12 midnight is not a limit to their noisiness, there was a night, i was woken up by thumps, went to check, and guess what, there were 2 guys kicking ball on the corridor... seriously no value of 'bertimbang-rasa' haha! geram... :PI'm beginning to enjoy the scenery in this country though.. :) its not as bare as it is back home. The skies here looked different too, it has beautiful colours of reddish blended with shades of blue. I especially love the view i get from my window.. The food here is nice in the beginning, but now.. its getting more and more yucky... haha! Much because the eat bread for almost everything... and beef... urgh... I've taken so much i think i'll abstain from beef after this.... Am thinking of getting a special meal now.. haha! Chicken seems to be pretty expensive here, coz every rare occasions that they serve it, its quite impossible to get a second serving... KFC here taste bad, according to a friend.. haha! Mc.D is not as nice as the one in Malaysia... they dun have Chicken Mc.Deluxe here... lol!Having a week long break now... which is quite a relieve after the exam...:) I'm basically slacking and wasting my time playing games... But i vowed to start some reading soon..:) Hehe!
